Our Queens of Style...
LETS MEET GEORGIE LINTON from Little Lintons and La Fontaines Growing up in the iconic Lintons Garden and Home Centre in Mount Eliza, Georgie learned from a very early age what it takes to run a successful business.
When her parents sold the Centre, she opened Linton la Fontaine on Ranelagh Drive as a garden design studio and incorporated a range of homewares into the business as well.
As popularity grew for the homewares, it wasn t long before the design part of the business moved out and the shop expanded to focus on giftware, quality jewellery, clothing and accessories.
Many regular customers fondly referred to the store as Little Lintons so a recent rebranding saw this new name take pride of place.
Developing the business even further, six months ago Georgie saw an opportunity to grow her homewares to accommodate a more diverse range of stock and La Fontaines in Mt Eliza Way was born.
Both stores have an amazing range of homewares, giftware, fashion and jewellery and Georgie s flair for colour and design can be seen throughout both stores.
Coming into Autumn, there are scarfs galore along with some gorgeous cosy knitwear, cushions and throw rugs.
La Fontaine has a great range of ceramics, Danish bed linen, lamps and stools while Little Lintons is renowned for the amazing range of jewellery along with other giftware and homewares.
The quality products found here are sourced both locally and overseas and Georgie supports many emerging artists and designers from the Peninsula and around Australia.
The success of both stores is that they have price points to cater for everyone.
Whether you have 20 or 120, there will be a piece of jewellery, scarf or other item just perfect for your home or as a gift ays Georgie.
Over the last five years, Little Lintons has gained a strong following and is well known as the one stop gift store .
With an extensive range of jewellery including the colourful Emily Green range and unique Nicole Fendel sterling silver and gold pieces, there really is something here to suit all tastes.
The cute sideway sells a variety of plants and they are always on trend with their sizeable collection.
I often have people coming in for last minute gifts and they can always find something Georgie says.
The Linton name is synonymous with plants and homewares and prior to opening the shops, Georgie completed her degree in Landscape Architecture at RMIT which gave a deep understanding of her two passions, design and plants.
Her talent for finding unique and beautiful items stems from this knowledge and her background in the family business.
I was wrapping gifts at Lintons when I was about 15 years old and learned the trade watching Mum and Dad doing the buying and merchandising Georgie says.
People travel from far and wide to buy the unique gifts here and the feedback received is always positive.
Wedding and engagement gifts are a speciality and Georgie is often on hand to help you find that special something.
I love chatting with my customers.
I know the stock so well that I can always find something to suit everyone says Georgie.
So if you re looking for a special gift, something to brighten up the home or just want to spoil yourself a little, check out Lintons La Fontaine and Little Lintons where Georgie and her friendly staff will help you find exactly what you re looking for.
