In May, the Z?may team spent a
full day and night at a Tony & Guy
Cut-and-Colour Seminar. The day
was spent learning consultation and
communication skills. These skills
are vital in hairdressing, as you know,
because getting the look you asked
for and then being able to recreate it
when you get home is so important.
As a result of this training, the stylists
at Z?may will be offering each client
a ?how to? flyer that will be custommade
at the end of each visit. The
flyer is designed to help you to
remember what your stylist used and
did to create your perfect hair do.
In the evening, the seminar
continued with training on colouring
and cutting. The colours were rich
and solid, using three or more
colours from the same family to
create shadowing effects. The cuts
were very choppy and textured, with
a few disconnected layered looks.
This is a great look for those who
want to keep some length but also
want movement and height. The
results were truly beautiful!
The team at Z?may Salon has
also been busy working on a two
day photo shoot with renowned
photographer Ian Golding. The
photos are so good that some of
the girls have entered them into
the L?Oreal colour trophy. We?re
looking forward to showing you all
the pictures once the judging is
completed in June.
Z?may Salon owner Lorna Evans
has called the new portfolio the
Vintage Rose collection. Matrix has
even invited Lorna to showcase the
collection at Hair Expo, in Sydney,
over the June long weekend.
Also in June, Z?may Salon will
undergo a make over of its own.
Lorna has been working with interior
decorator Mel Decarlo and Pat the
builder (not Bob the Builder!) to
come up with some great ideas.
The new-look Z?may Salon will use
Designers Guild wallpapers mixed
with dark timbers and wrought iron.
While the look will be fresh and
exciting, it is still really important
to Lorna that the Salon retains the
warmth and individual atmosphere it
is known for.
